I went to Mr. Big’s Concert at Electric City in June ‘24 and connected with my bass guitar mentor and friend, the world renown bassist innovator and undeniably incredibly talented Billy Sheehan. Billy has traveled the world with a number of his strong bands (including Mr. Big (‘To Be With You’), David Lee Roth (‘Yankee Rose’ w Roth, Steve Vai & Greg Bissonette), Niacin, The Winery Dogs, The Sons of Apollo and others including the Buffalo based bands ‘Talas’ and ‘Light Years’. There are others but it is of note that Talas was the first act to be honored by the prestigious Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Award in 1983. Billy contacted me by text, at which point he invited me to play his annual ‘Christmas Rocks Concert’ as part of MOB (Musicians Of Buffalo) Show along with co-producers/celebrities- Guitarist/Singer Bobby Lebel (The Road/Redd) and Singer Jessie Galante (Actor/Solo). There is a 13 piece rock orchestra of which Only Frank will be Rockin’ with. The MOB Annual Christmas Show will be performed at another Buffalo native and BMHOF artist Ani DiFranco’s “Babeville” Live in Asbury Hall Music Venue (former church), 341 Delaware Ave. Bflo, NY 14202. Doors open 7p. Show begins 8p. Tickets are $30 General Admission Seated, Limited $40 Reserved Gold Circle (first 7 rows center) and a limited VIP 1 hour afterparty access @ The 9th Ward, our intimate basement bar, available for an additional $20 at checkout; can be purchased on TixR.com or in person at the Babeville Box Office (M-F 11a-5p) (in person fee/free cash sales, 3% credit card fee). This annual fund raising event donates a portion of the proceeds to Robbie Takak’s “Music Is Art”. I don’t have all the details at this time but more will be forthcoming. I’m flabbergasted and honored to play at this function with my contemporaries and friends. Thank you Bobby, Jessie & Billy. You continue to be an inspiration. Now I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!!!
